for the Silclear
This review is from my original post on April 06, 2004 at 13:34:15; with a few more comments at the end.
I too read the glowing reviews and decided to try Silclear.
I also read about that the positive cumulative effects so I decided to apply Silclear in stages. (Given the number of cable ends I have it was only practical).
I. The first application, I randomly selected one end of a my AZ MC2 digital cable and one end of both my Purenote Epsilon RCA interconnects. I heard subtle sonic improvements and was compelled to try more.
II. Several days latter I applied Silclear to my Anlaysis Plus Oval 9 speaker cables- both ends, IEC ends of the power cords feeding my Aerius i speakers, the power cord to my Rel Strata III sub and both ends of the power cord feeding my Monolothic power supply for the P1A and P3A, the IEC male in the Monolithic PS, power cord feeding my Sim Moon I5 and IEC male, the Electroclears male plugs and Quantum Symphony plugs- both ends. I listened immediately and I was floored!!! The sonic improvement was incredible. All I can say is that every aspect of the sound improved: microdynamics, macrodynamics, resolution, extended highs and lows, depth - literally everything improved. There was less digital glare. Every acoustic instrument sounded more natural with more tone and detail. The sound overall was more musical and less fatiguing. There was actually more resolution without getting more clinical. What else can you ask for. I was now addicted.
III. The last application finished with all my cables for P1A, P3A which include the Revelation Audio I2S interconnect and power cords. I also applied Silclear to the male plugs of all my power cords feeding into my BPT Ultra 1 (I plug all my components including the Aerius i's into the Ultra 1). This last application was the icing on the cake. I listened again and immediately there was further refinement. It was spooky. I have never enjoyed my system this much.
All in all, I recommend Silclear to anyone who has a hi-res system and wants to get all the potential out of your current cable and equipment investment. Don't purchase any upgrades and don't try any new cables or switch any components until you apply Silclear to every cable end (as directed). The scary part is that you might finally be satisfied with what you have. I certainly am.
Additional Comments-
I listen to a lot of natural acoustic jazz. With Silclear saxophone recordings especially sound more like real live saxophones - with all their clarity, speed and warmth.
As weeks go by the positive impact of Silclear remains. It is one of those tweaks that prompts you to want to relisten to all your favorite cds to gain a new perspective on the listening experience.
I can't reiterate enough that you should apply Silclear before you do any more uprgrading or swapping of cables. The application will give you a more precise baseline of your current system. But, like me, you may loose the desire (for awhile at least) to make any more changes.
Product Weakness: a little messy to work with in tight spaces; have a rag handy. Product Strengths: Improves every aspect of the sonic impression your system puts forth
