for the True-Tone Covers

well, i'm some what of a tweeker... always on the lookout for something that will deliver that little bit of "magic". so after reading all the comments, thoughts, controversy and outrage about the machina dynamica products (clever little clocks, brilliant pebbles etc.) i thought i might as well take a $40 plunge and check out the true-tone covers. the site says "Machina Dynamica's Tru-Tone Duplex Cover avoids the magnetic influence of standard steel cover plates and provides outstanding resonance control for the electrical receptacle and wall structure. Tru-Tone Duplex Covers are prepared using proprietary materials-processing techniques and provide a perfect, snug fit on all standard duplex receptacles, including Oyaide and Acme receptacles. Tru-Tone Duplex Outlet Covers provide sound that is less distorted and better focused, with exceptional bass wallop, extension and articulation.", so i figured... why not. stranger things have happened in this hobby.

well, this is what i got:

that's right, two basic chinese ceramic recepticle covers. one is even cracked and chipped. neither of them have made any improvement over my wood covers. so i guess you can call glazing and kiln firing proprietary materials and processing techniques? well, i'm now $40 wiser and i've earned the right to voice my opinion about another "audiophile product". i suppose if i were using some magnetic steele covers prior to implementing the true-tone covers, i might indeed have found some improvements, but all i found was that my wallet now has a blacker background...

Product Weakness: in my system, they made no real difference over wood covers.
Product Strengths: they're very white and they fit well.
