Agreed completely. I have the original MFSL 2-013 and I went and bought several original WB copies with LW1 in the trailout to compare with the newer MFSL version. I was surprised to hear that the earlier palm tree label MFSL was not hideously bright with lightweight, muddy bass that are the norm for MFSL pressings. I was also surprised to hear how compressed, dark, and detail-challenged the newer MFSL pressing is. It clearly was the worst of the 5 copies I listened to. IMO the original WB pressings are far superior to either of the MFSL copies, so arguing which MFSL pressing is superior is like arguing what racing tires to put on a Model T Ford. As my stereo improves I like MFSL pressings less and less. I have every LP MFSL ever released and am questioning why I waste $30-$40 merely to collect these dreadful sounding MFSL titles.
