The required vtf will vary with the arm but 103R sounds anything but thin at 2g vtf in the Graham. I found it to sound considerably more open and engaging at 2g (or slightly under). Ultimate tracking may have been slightly compromised, but was still excellent by any standard.
While it won't have the vivid detail and sparkle of some cartridges, it should still sound quite refined - especialy compared to high-output cartridges (that rarely achieve the nuance and presence of low-output MC's). Even straight out of the box mine sounded very good.
