Have you had other vac machines for comparison? What did you use before for cleaning? Thanks for the review - I'm looking to get a motor-driven unit as soon as my Record Doctor goes terminal, and I'll keep this one in mind.

About that loud motor - I placed my vac machine in a cloth-lined box and it helped dampen the sound a little bit. I've also used ear plugs.
