when I read the subject line, I first thought the question would be about the classic live end, dead end, listening room configuration.

I clicked in hoping to learn how you were transposing these guidelines to your listening space, or perhaps to learn from a problem.

I am in no position to give advice. However, common sense would suggest your doubts are just an expression of lack of acoustic knowledge. Perhaps a couple of books would cure your "audiophile nervosa".
