I don't think back wall reflections are your issue as far as the turntable goes as many manufacturers recommend for isolation, mount them on the wall with a wall mount so that isn't it.
The issue is if your system is behind you with the speakers on the opposite side pointing at the system while you listen. This is why most people either place their gear in between the speakers or on one side of the room to minimize vibrations etc from affecting things like the turntable.
Also, as others have mentioned, isolate your table first by decoupling it from the shelf it sits on. Some say remove the dust cover completely during play, others say keep it closed, I tend to do the latter but my system sits on Expedit shelving in between my speakers.
