thanks Jonesy. I connected my blueray via RCA's and it PLAYS!.... Great suggestion....now I know the preamp is fine, but the cable I was using was faulty. I'll get another from Amazon and will surely be good to go. By the way....there was a huge sound difference between the Panasonic blurray and the Ayre silver disc player....of coarse.
