Thanks Jonesey..... when I plug earphones into the 3.5mm jack of the Sony, I get great sound. I checked the Y connector with multimeter, and get an indication that there is no break in the wire to both RCA's. The Monitor switch is in the off position.....the #2 input connects the internal phono preamp on XLR connection witch sounds fine. I was using #1 balanced connection for CD which sounds fine. The RCA inputs are labeled 4,5,6....no sound from the Sony from either....again all balanced inputs are working fine....no hum, no distortion, etc. Do I have to run my amp single ended to permit the RCA's to work?
