RE: REVIEW: REL Acoustics Stentor III Speakers

ahmmmmm....
i think not.

1. i put a lot more trust in sub specialist company with proved and continues success in their field rather in high marketing company (and i'm very familiar with some of Paradigm's products - so i see the pattern)

2. from what i see Sub 2 is very expensive and should be compared with Studio which should be exceptional product.
but both are total overkill for most of the rooms.

3. it leaves us with Sub 1 - and what i see at the spec page is not impressive - just 50kg weight and this is with 6 x 8" drivers - this suggests quite a light build. not good.
of course it's cheaper to get a lot of home made (means "cheap") elements instead of building good cabinet.
with Stentor i can say that the cabinet vibrates very little.
if you build it properly - you don't need all this mambo jumbo tricks.
but it costs more. and doesn't leave you enough budget to pay for comercials at every magazine...

Paradigm say "These Subs are Movers, not Shakers … Massive Air Movement, Massive Output, Vibration Free".
Combine this with only line level connection and you understand that this not music oriented sub.
If you ever heard cello, piano or even bass guitar - you would know there is no air movement there.
it's probably very impressive in HT.
my primary need is Stereo.
