Home Speaker Asylum

General speaker questions for audio and home theater.

Re: Maybe you have a point but...

I agree. The Thiels I heard had the usual tiring zippy treble that is mistakingly passed off as accurate. They didn't integrate properly and didn't sound cohesive...apparently they still have this issue when reading between the lines.

But it's obviously a taste issue because look at how many love them and sure don't want to step on someone's taste. I guess I'm with you and just don't see it nor do the speakers make sense to me. They are continuously said not to be ver good dynamically or have believeable bass so why not spend half the money for some standmount like the CDM 1NT and a sub. At least if there is an integration problem I may as well have lots of bass and oomph.

Despite the flaws of the De Capo at least there is an organic feel and cohesion to everything it presents.

All these speakers are gearing for home theater where they want exreme pumped up treble so you get extra ringing when T2 gets blasted into a million bits after being frozen...you need that extra tizzy tinkling when the frozen metal shards hit the ground. Bleggh.
