Your comments were indicative of someone who could not have heard every example of speakers costing twice as much.The simple construction of that model uses a *very* cheap tweeter.
Not once did I infer the speaker did not sound good, but mearly the way you presented your case...quite defensive, and might I say...arrogant.

Far better components and sound are available for $400 from speakercity.com.There is a two way vifa kit that will "smoke" those wharfdales.
Wharfdales are considered quite run-of-the-mill in the UK, I cannot fathom why they would be so reguarded elsewhere. They have aimed that product clearly at the paradigm/infinity/jbl crowd.
The next time you can save $200 or more and get better sound. I can say that because I have heard both, and know the limitations.
