Ethan,
I greatly appreciate your input and for all your work with Audio Asylum. So I do not want to go back and forth with you about this topic. I just want to say that in my room with lots of echoes, Tact did something that no other component did or can possible do. If you would hear my system without processing and then with, you would not believe your ears.
As far as I know, Tact processors are the only ones that perform impulse response correction in the digital domain. By applying lots of computing power Tact has the ability to do exactly what you said they couldn't do, eliminate echoes in the high and mid frequencies. Which arguably was impossible just a few years ago.
I will post my room impulse response and frequency response graphs before and after processing for everyone to see. I just need to set up my software and figure out the mic/preamp/soundcard operation.
Once again, thank you for your insightful advice and I am certain that once you hear a Tact unit, you will understand why I am so defensive about its abilities.
And, if you are ever in Brooklyn, just email me and I would love to give you a personal demo.
My system is:
B&W 805S
Krell 2250
Tact2.0S
Sony SCD777ES
Panamax M5300-EX
All signal cables are by Kimber
All power cables are by PS Audio
