You'd better look for a proper hardware setup first.

First you'd need a high quality AD/DA audio interface.

Forget all these mediocre USB-microphone setups. They all
come with clock issues. REW tries to cope with it. "Tries" !!

And then you better look for a great microphone, microphone stand,
cable and power supply. You run a high risk to run into nasty noise and phase issues.

Then you buy software licenses to create filters. No experience here !?!?
The learning curve is quite steep in the "early" days. Later on it gets really technical. An engineering degree helps to cope with it.

You end up with highly processed filters. Filters that are flawed and usually match a single position in the room.
On top these filters won't be able to properly cope with the low frequency range and larger dips in the frequency spectrum.
Room reverberation is also out of scope.

Automatically created filters (by using presets) are usually not the best choice. You won't get around adjusting parameters manually.
In the end the filter will be your very "personal" subjective product.


Then you run a 16bit signal, that's how 99.9% of our audio data looks like, over that filter. Wait-a-minute!
That 16bit signal will be attenuated by up to 6dB first to avoid clipping (artificial junk introduced by that DSP/filter later on). Yep. your data basically is already messed up before hitting the filter.

And all this goes on and on.

All I'm saying. Good luck! You'll need it. With your total lack of knowledge about all that it'll be a time consuming, bumpy and expensive ride.
