Both of mine are 2019s, so no issues there, but, yes, we don't have annual inspection. I was born/raised a PA-boy, and it used to be twice a year--now it is only once (annual). We were close enough to the border (with OH) that you'd see classified ads with "good OH car" in the listing--aka won't pass inspection and would cost more than it's worth to even try.

As a kid, I always had some kind of muscle car and a "sled" for the winter. Put away the Stang, Firebird, Camaro or Vette and drive the 20+ year-old station wagon or truck for the winter--they weren't pretty (three different colors of primer and what's left of the vinyl wood-grain), but they started on a cold morning. I know the drill--had a few that the new battery was probably worth more than the whole vehicle LOL. That was all pre-emissions, and I had "a guy" that would just come over and put the sticker on the windshield for a few "extra" bucks.

Now I sound like Archie and Edith--"those were the days" LOL. We did a lot of really stupid shit with cars way back when--drag racing on the street, and taking corners at 100+ mph in 5000 lb cars on (bias, not radial) tires that the tread was drawn on with a Sharpie marker--and MOST of us lived.
