Here in Japan I have found a type of liquid rubber that remains extremely flexible when it dries; if the foam surround is not totally destroyed but just getting ready to fall apart, this can add several years to its life. Surrounds I reinforced with that two years ago are still holding up fine.Note also: many people feel that Lowther drivers sound best just before the foam edges rot away. It is because the edges have lost all their strength at that point. If that opinion is true, it is too bad that the best sound should be a harbinger of approaching death . . .
