A couple of weeks ago, I decided it was time to move on from my 20 year old Grado SR125s. To my ears, they still sound fine but I got the itch and need to scratch it!

I use YouTube a lot and a search on headphones reveals a ton of videos aimed at peeps like us. The link below should be a good starting point for you:

Channels like these guys cover everything from closed backs to open backs to IEMs and while they do dabble in the high end (headphones north of $2k) they have put out a lot content for 'phones costing $500 and less.

The current rage with multiple channels seems to be the Hifiman Edition XS, an open back planar magnetic 'phone that was deemed a best buy when it was originally released for $500 but is now available for less than $380.
