Baroque

I love baroque, but there's no one system that does it all for me. For big organ works, I want a system that is super transparent so I can "hear the hall" aka make a mental image of the church or cathedral around me, but also has a lot of power in the bass and lower midrange. For chamber music, most of which is recorded close-up, I don't care as much about soundstaging or dynamics, the tone and presence matters more to me. And then there is Glenn Gould, whose take on Bach was decidedly un-baroque. I loved listening to Glenn Gould on the same system that I loved hearing Brand X and Infected Mushroom (with Wilson Benesch speakers), because Gould's take on Bach in his later years was very deconstructive.
