I owned a Sherwood S-7100A as my first "good" receiver, back in the '70s. Never made any mods, but it was a fine little receiver and a big step up from the Radio Shack tuner and amp that it replaced. I sold it to a friend in about 1980. You can find these on eBay for about $35-$40 fairly often.BTW: Markw* is right, the Newcastle name was not used 'til the '90s.
