Thanks for the info. Specifically, I'm looking for both a new preamp and amp to drive my Maggie 1.6s. I need a stereo amp to accommodate other equipment and living space requirements (selling off my Muse 300 monos).I have a Cary 306/200 CD player which I just love, so the 2002 pre makes sense. Preamp must have a cinema bypass and I want to keep everything balanced (I've found there is a sonic improvement using the Cary 306 balanced as opposed to single-ended). Considering ARC 150.2, Bryston 3bsst/4bsst and Bel Canto eVo power amps. The low input impedance of the Brystons represents a challenge for several preamps, including the ARCs.
Hopefully I'll be able to do some auditioning.
