Except he didn't actually give any faults for solid state devices...Listen again starting about 13:50 and continue to about 14:30 including his discussion of how the circuit complexity* required to make SS linear compromises the signal. Advance to 49:30 for the discussion of the "very potent spice". And which approach is superior in the listening. ;)

*In fairness, there are exceptions available with simple topology ZFB designs.
