The difference as Dean & Biff say is the power supply. The VP129 came with a standard wall wart power supply and the VP130 comes with a new "switching" power supply similar to that used in most laptops that can accommodate voltages from 100 to 240volts AC (I always wanted to travel with my Phono Preamp :<} ). I too ditched the power supply that came with my VP 129 and replaced it with a higher current version(I believe an 1800ma Philips) from Walmart. You may also want to replace the Chinese Shuguang 12ax7 that comes with it with a Sovetek 12AX7LPS as the spiral filaments in the Sovetek are much more resistant to hum and thus make for a much quieter phono preamp. Gain and noise are the two weak points of the Bellari design so try to use a higher output cartridge as well as the power supply and tube changes for the best performance.
Good Luck, Jerry
