Technics SL 1400 v.s. Technics SL 1200

As far as *sound quality* is concerned, what is there a substantial difference between a Technics SL 1400 and a Technics SL 1200?

Also: How do the other 1x00s ( i.e.; 1500s, 1600s ) compare to the 1200sin terms of sound quality?
