I have a VPI TNT 5hr
& I get Excessive amounts of Static on the Platter.
I use a Mapleshade Ionoclast to neutralize the Static,
But the Static is SO Bad, That It takes minutes of Zapping
with the Iono to really do any good.I wonder if Grounding the Platter Spindle & Bearing assembly
would provide a path to Ground for the Static.
About the only place I could run the grounding wire would be
to the Receptacle outlet or the Phono stage, since I am not at grade
level so I cannot sink a Grounding rod anywhere within reasonable
distance from the Turntable.I tried a Herbies TT Mat, but was not impressed with the sound and
it did nothing to elleviate the Static.DO Any of You VPI Owners have Your Platters (Spindle/Bearing) Grounded? or Have You had any Problems with
excessive Static buildup and have remedied the problem???It is driving Me Bannanas!
