Many years ago, I owned Wharedale 508s, I liked them, very good neutral British sound. The 708s were the high-tech variant with a molded inert cabinet covered with wood veneer. Their sound was very clean, especially the midrange and treble. The bass was OK but nothing to write home about. They got excellent reviews in the British mags when they came out in the late 80s.
