After reading the posts on the Yamaha R-500 receiver, I decided to get my CR-500 out and check it over....now I remember why I put it on the "to fix" shelf!

The tuning string is vert tight....I can turn the tuning capacitor by hand but not much by the tuning knob. How can this be fixed?

The receiver is in otherwise good condition. From what I am told, this is a pretty rare model...is this true? Is it a keeper or auction fodder?
