Any of the following would definitely work safely in your amp:
12AU7/A
ECC82/E82CC
5814/A
5963My personal fave is the Sylvania Gold Brand GB-5814A.
I listened to tubes from Mullard, Telefunken, RCA, GE, Sylvania and a few more.
I especially don't like the "fat" sound of the RCA clear top
12AU7, despite the demand for that tube (but then I don't like the red base 5692, so who know, maybe I'm weired...)
Sylvania 5814A and 5963 came in second, but even they are noticeably inferior to the GB-5814A in preamp applications.
But as they say, your milage may vary...
