Agreed! Carbon composition resistors are the type to use, in the grid stopper role. Carbon comp. parts are both non-metallic and non-inductive, which means they don't serve as an antenna or resonate with capacitance.

Yes, carbon comp. resistors can be noisy. However, the noise is related to the amount of current present and the current in grid circuitry is vanishingly small. :>) CC noise is a non-issue, for grid stoppers.
