John Swenson said he used Orange Drop caps and carbon comp resistors in his snubber. He didn't think it was that critical apparently, but did say some caps didn't perform as well at higher frequencies.
All I have to use is (2) 630V mylar caps in series for now.
When I start feeling better, I will begin to investigate this more with my scope.
