Home Tape Trail

Reel to reel, cassette and other analogue tape formats.

I had one...

and sold them last year. You're right they're very pinicky to maintain especially the tape speed. Just keep and eye on it and if it goes out of specs and sounding slow just open it up and with the help from a small screw driver to access the little phillips screw inside the drive mechanism, manual and or google for help on the procedure, you should be able to adjust the tape speed quite easily.

Also, I might add that if you hear a whirling noise when you insert the cassette tape, it means that the drive mechanism may need refurbishing, which includes the small drive belt and bushing replacement. Other than that its sound is quite good, however, it can not match any of the ZX CR 7a and including the Dragon models.

Good luck...
