I've only heard high praise for the Tannoy FSM.
The DMT 215 is certainly what you say it is: the last version Tannoy did of the "large format" or "main playback monitor." I've also only heard high praise for it.
I'm familiar with the Tannoy DMT line, but I've never heard the DMT 215 or the FSM. I'd say, if the price is halfway decent and you've got the space, don't hesitate getting either.
I own or have owned the following models from the DMT line; they're all exceptional speakers:
System 15 DMT II
AMS-12A (active monitors with 12" DC)
System 12 DMT
System 10 DMT II
The extra bass driver would be amazing, not only because it would make the bass more effortless and dynamic, but it would improve performance in the mid-range, since the DC cone would be freed from the task of reproducing the lowest frequencies.
