Inmate Central, where civil and family-friendly discourse about off-audio topics (other than religion and politics) is welcome.

Yes...off topic statement...

I wish we'd seen you at Central Fest. Your seat was very empty as was Gayle's and Bruce's. We'd set one out for Dianne if she came but weren't really expecting her. It would have been great to see her too and hoping...

The sound of Brian's gear was shocking...and he played CDs. Proof again that CDs are merely another portraiture; when digital's done right it doesn't matter. Brian's rep, Brian had a disc that was outstanding both in sound and music, an Ike Quebec Blue Note (King). I've already purchased a copy...that's how good it is, fabulous Jazz; I didn't wait to get home to order it.

Chicago's another town for "foodies." I must have seen at least 4 or five restaurants I'd like to go to while en route to the restaurants we DID eat at. The restaurants where we ate were superb, but the most fun was where we had breakfast every morning...even yesterday morning.

Barrington seems like you should smell the ocean air. It has the look and feel of a sea-side town. Weirdly enough, Centerville, OH has the same look. We're going to go explore Dayton a bit as I took the opportunity to catch up on my "closed-eyes" moments. I'm finally feeling rested after a difficult week. Lots of fun but alas, lots of sorrow.

Barb wanted to get ahold of a cousin who lives near Barrington but they didn't connect as Terri was involved in an accident when a biker and his rider ran into her car; they both were killed, no helmets. Obviously not her fault but she was issued a citation for failure to yield but it wasn't judged vehicular homicide. After Danny's death, nothing we (of course) wanted to hear.

THEN we got a call from my sister telling us our best friend's mother had died when she had a second heart attack while in the hospital to get a by-pass! Ruth and Bill are our oldest friends, we both held each others children before anyone else when they were born. Ruth's Mom was a Japanese war bride who ran a bar/restaurant that's almost historic in the village of South Mountain, PA. An unbelievable cook...she and her food will be missed.

We're awaiting news concerning her arrangements as we'd like to get back to C-burg to be with Bill and Ruthie but want to spend time with numbah wan son, Ryan.

Hopefully we'll get to do SOMETHING while we're here other than type messages to friends and sleep. I haven't even showered yet.
