Well Sue, Your techie friend is a bit off also. I did the simple math. With a max current rating of .0137 amps using an 8 ohm load the wattage is about .0015 watts. Yes I got it right. 1.5 to the -03 power. This is how incredibly stupid using 40awg for speaker wire is. 54awg should carry about half the current of 40awg. Twice as stupid. Enough power to blow an amoeba's ear drums out. Tweaker
