Hello, I also just got some 604s and need a cabinet. I also was interested in the open baffle, and put together a trial baffle based on information on the web. The mids and highs were very good, but there was great roll off of the bass such that there basically was no bass. I gather a much bigger baffle will help with that, but I don't have that much space (and my wife is not that understanding).

After more research, it seems the best cabinet is a 9cu ft enclosure, such as in the diagram provided in an earlier post. Also of consideration is whether to use a port slot (tune to 40Hz) or a port tube (tune to 28Hz) - I am going to try the port tube. This is my first venture into speaker building, so I disavow any knowledge about anything.... merely relating my experience with open baffle and what I have read.
