It is now one week later.
Highresaudio continue to offer MQA downloads (see link for an example) and the MQA website still has them listed as download partners. I said at the time that original message seemed naive and unprofessional. Furthermore at least part of the technical claim was incorrect.
Clearly the second message's claim that all references and links to MQA on highreaudio were to be removed from "01:03" ( no doubt that odd three minutes past the hour was to add a spurious sense of "accuracy") has not taken place.
My conclusion has to be that this story is/was fake.
