Is SACD superior to vinyl?

I have collected vinyl for the last 56 years (I am 69). I am new to SACD - I started 3 years ago. I have 4000 plus albums and 276 SACDs. My listening system is fairly sophisticated with a front end consisting of a Lyra Titan I in a SME V on a SOTA Cosmos Iii. The SACD player is a Sony 5400. For the last 6 months I have been waiting for my Lyra Titan to be replaced by the distributor which they finally accomplished. During that time I mainly listened to SACDs. The new cartridge has finally broken in and sounds as good as the old Titan before it hit the dust. Funny thing though I keep going back to the SACDs. Wider dynamic range, more forgiving high end - just easier to listen to. The sound stage is not as precise as on vinyl. The vinyl front retails for $18,000 the SACD for $1,500. I mainly listen to classical in two channel. Worth thinking about.
