It's interesting that on my HTPC DVD-ROM, which defaults to the high density layer of hybrid SACDs, I have no problem reading the SACD TOC and files.SACD File Structure
Root level
2c_audio (directory)
Mc_audio (directory)
Master1.toc
Master2.toc
Master3.tocThe Master.toc files contain the name of the disk.
2c_audio
2c_area1.toc
2c_area2.toc
2c_tarea.2ch
Track001.2ch
Track002.2ch
Track003.2ch
.. etc.The Track---.2ch files are huge.. between 50,000 and 100,000 KB each.
Mc_audio
Mc_area1.toc
Mc_area2.toc
Mc_tarea.Mch
Track001.Mch
Track002.Mch
Track003.Mch
.. etc.The Mc_audio directory only exists on multichannel disks. As expected the files are three times larger than the 2ch files.
I also have no problem copying the Track files onto my hard drive. So much for the scrambled lead-in, scrambled TOC and visual watermark. Playing the files is a different story, since a software SACD player doesn't exist.
Now if only I could figure out how to switch to the redbook layer. I'd much rather listen to the disk than look at this file list.
Dave.
