"Finally, is it true that one has to use a video player to display the DVD-A tracks in order to select them?"Hmmm ... an interesting question, and one that hasn't been asked before. Yes, it's true. You simply cannot listen to DVD-A without a TV. The DVD-A/ITU spec calls for a large RPTV placed between the front speakers just for this purpose so that the menus are more easily visible. Also, thae TV has to be on at all times - apparently the 15Khz flyback tone is used as part of the audible watermarking scheme, and player will not play protected discs unless it detects this tone.
Cheers,
Paul.
