for the Moderator 150-200Well, I have gone the minimalist road. I was happily using a refurbished Pilot SM-245A EL84 Integrated amp, when I met a tech who was using a Kirksaeter pre-tuner..I loved it. So I went looking for one and found this monster receiver.
Finesse, great tonality, power. I love the sound of this unit...Having some DIN connectors for speakers, and PAL connectors for the tuner antenna is a PITA, but easy to overcome. Tone controls can be defeated. I used all outputs and inputs and the SQ is stupendous in all.
Product Weakness: rear connectors. Product Strengths: Tonality, unobtrusive sound. Associated Equipment for this Review:
Amplifier: Kirksaeter Moderator 150-200 Preamplifier (or None if Integrated): none Sources (CDP/Turntable): Parasound CDP-2000, Thorens TD 166 MKII, Teac x2000m r2r. Speakers: Kirksaeter Monitor 141 Cables/Interconnects: various Music Used (Genre/Selections): Lute, prog rock. Type of Audition/Review: Product Owner
