I'm on the road listening to 7" vinyl I buy along the way on a Crosley Revolution portable player and foxL powered speaker. The cartridge is magnetic and I've got the tracking force down to 2.75g via Blu-Tack. The motor started to slow down and I couldn't bring it back up with the hidden control screws so I thought it was crapping out even sooner than I had expected. I switched batteries and all is well again.
The thing is, I switched from cheap Panasonic batteries to more expensive Sony Stamina Plus batteries and the sound is noticeably better. Which AA batteries sound best? Do rechargeables sound better than throw-aways?
