I haven't heard the Wadia 16 but I've heard the Wadia 860 & 861 compared against Theta transport with Theta Gen V(a), Audio Research CD2 and Sony SCD 777Es.Based on what I've heard the Wadia 860 is a class on its own though the 861 sounded more there, there but the 860 sort of floats above everything else in its class. It sounded more rounded than the rest. I'd say for the money listen to it and compare you'll hear that the 861 $1500 price difference between the 860 doesn't really make any sense.
