As Jeff Star says an idea of budget would help. I do have something in mind but it will not be cheaper than the NAD as far as I can tell. It is the new Naim Uniti Star.

As for the RAID configuration, I wonder why you are giving that priority? A RAID configuration does not give you full protection and only provides continuous play if one of the drives malfunctions. If that happened you would still subsequently have to replace the malfunctioning drive and rebuild the music database. Don't get me wrong I am not against RAID configurations but you will still need to make backups if you really want security from catastrophic failure, theft and fire. I am just suggesting that your search may be easier if you think of a product with an onboard drive and make and keep backups on external drives (which you will need to do anyway). This would give you more choice at more price levels. Most machines with inbuilt drives have a facility for making those backups.

As for machines having everything that you want plus features that you don't, well that is just the nature of things. I have never used the cupholders in my car or the 78rpm speed on a turntable.

Just a suggestion.
