Like Jeff, I also own the modestly priced HRT Linestreamer +. I used mine to rip a couple dozen vinyl albums to 24/96 AIFF files for playback on my music server.

The Linestreamer + is meant to take a linelevel signal into it's RCA jacks and output the digitized audio over USB to your computer. You do not connect the Linestreamer+ directly to the output of your phono cartridge. You can connect it to the output of your phono preamp but it should also have a way to adjust the signal level so a phono preamp with volume control or variable gain adjustment is very convenient. I used the PS Audio GCPH. Otherwise, you can use the output of your linestage and your linestage volume control.

The HRT Linestreamer+ is USB powered so no worries about your 240VAC 50Hz vs our 120VAC 60Hz here in the USA.

You can download the FREE Audacity software for Mac,PC, Linux, or you can buy specialized vinyl ripping software that might be more automated.

I used Audacity to capture the digitized audio and to make minor edits (clean up some pops and clicks). You can look for and see clipping in the software and backoff the signal level to minimize it. I would digitize an entire album side as one huge file then break it up into tracks manually, then manually input the metadata like Album, Artist, Track Title, etc.

My HRT Linestreamer + setup from a few years ago:
KAB Technics SL-1200mkII, Dynavector DV-20XH Cartridge, PS Audio GCPH Phono preamp, HRT Linestreamer +,
MacBook Pro laptop, Audacity audio capture and editing software. Grado SR-80i headphones for monitoring.

[EDIT]: The HRT Linestreamer+ might be discontinued. A couple other possible alternatives include the Furutech/Alpha Design Lab GT40, Rega Fono Mini A2D, NAD PP 4 Digital Phono, Parasound Zphono MM/MC Phono Preamplifier with USB, or used ADC on eBay.
