Those are all valid descriptions based on my personal experiences. The words I would reiterate are: smooth, clear and extended but in the bass only. I would also add that they have a black background that allows me to hear separation between individual notes.I say extended but in the bass only because they are a bit soft or rolled off in the extreme highs. When I first tried them they were perfect for the aluminum dome tweeters in my system at the time. I was happy for several years...
Now, with Magnepan MMGs and tube gear upstream my system is inherently softer (which I prefer). So, no longer needing any added softening I switched to the Pulsars which kicked it up a notch.
Heliax and/or real JPS Superconductors are definately worth trying if these descriptions and experiences fit your needs.
