Well for one thing the price... and the diameter. The M2.4s are.. well.. monsters.
Other than that,
1. Gauge: 10gauge conductors on M2.4s vs. 12g on M1.4s
2. M2.4s' conductors are made of multiple wire networks of three different gauges(bass/mid/highs) while M1.4s are made of multiple wire networks of two different gauges (bass/mid-highs).
3. Most importantly, dielectric. M1.4s' conductors are covered with Monster proprietary PEX. In M2.4s, the three wire networks are separated as they are wrapped into fiber (30% air).
4. The M2.4s features the Monster network Terminator (one on each cable end). I have no idea what those things are. I suspect it is ferrite beads. Both are great wires... of course depending on your equipment.
I have used for a number of years the M1.2s, M1.4s, and the M2.2s on different equipment. I have prefered these cables mot of the time (always the M2.2s).
Going from M1.2s (and many other cable brands) to M2.2s was a MAJOR step up. But so was the price.
I think the only Monster Cable (interconnects and speaker cables) that deserve attention are the ones featuring the microfibers and PEX. Forget the rest.
