I have not seen that particular Jensen field coil, but, what I can say is that their are some models that are VERY valuable, highly coveted and truly AMAZING sounding. Do not get rid of the driver until someone who knows something has looked at it.

I have been sort of looking for a decent pair of Jensen M10 field coil drivers myself. I have heard systems where they are used fullrange, with a tweeter added to cover just the very highest frequencies. This can be incredibly nice sounding. A really great condition pair of M10, or the ERPI equivalent, can cost more than $25,000. The bigger M18 is also highly coveted. There are people that can re-cone these speakers so the condition of the cone is not that critical. Sort of a dream, but, I would like an open baffle system with the M10 or M18 on the bottom and a 597 tweeter on the top (too bad the 597 is even more expensive than the M10).
