Harman Kardon Citation XXP Preamp & Citation XX Poweramp

Does anyone here know who actually designed the HK XXP preamp & matching XX power amp? From the build quality it looks like a John Curl design and reminds me of the ML2 monoblocs I owned years ago, but I seem to recall Dr. Matti Otala being involved.

Does anyone know who designed them as a fact and has anyone ever heard either of these two stunningly beautiful pieces?
