Certainly marlin fishing off the US East Coast did, years ago.
Ocean City, MD hosted a white marlin tournament for years -- I don't know if there even are any white marlins to catch off the mid-Atlantic coast any more.
The ability to catch & release is what I like best about fishing. That and the zen of fishing. As a good friend of mine liked to say, "notice that they call it fishing, and not catching." :)
Catch and release doesn't work so well with hunting. :(
I was an avid (although not terribly serious) fisherperson for a long time -- for whatever reason, it's been years since I last went fishing, though.
... and, no, not a deep-sea fisher, although I've done more than a bit of salt water fishing on and near the US East Coast.
all the best,
mrh
