Some places I can think of....Notably, up near Lake Arrowhead 'in the district' will NOT let you paint your fence without jumping thru some hoops first. Than? No Way will Purple be allowed. Years ago when I visited, there were NO 'for sale' signs. I dropped into a realtor and found such signs were against the rules.

Other rules cover swimming. Boating (must register) and a whole slew of other things.
But BOY, is that place Pristine. And $$$. The riff-raff end up in Big Bear, a dump by comparison.
Everything not forbidden is mandatory. Everything not mandatory is forbidden.
