Inmate Central, where civil and family-friendly discourse about off-audio topics (other than religion and politics) is welcome.

They're ugly, but they sell like hotcakes.

What the Big Three never got about the VW Bug, the original Bug, was that people didn't buy them because they were great cars. They weren't great cars. The engine wasn't durable, the car rusted just as fast as anything built by GM, Ford, or Chrysler.
The folks who loved the Bug were giving "lower, longer, wider" the Finger. It wasn't that they wanted a little car. Shrinking a Galaxie wasn't going to win them over. The Bug was anti-planned obsolescence. Of course--it was already obsolete, having been designed in the 1930s.
The name of the game for consumers these days is conformity. I'll take what they're having, please. Today, a car like the Bug wouldn't stand a chance.
And no cheap cars either!!! What will the neighbors think, that I'm not credit-worthy?

The blissful counterstroke-a considerable new message.
